This presentation will elaborate on ways in which understanding and application of measures of beta cell dysfunction could help understand type 1 diabetes prevention efforts.
What makes this topic important in 2022?
Development of biomarkers and beta cell-targeted therapeutics could allow for a more tailored approach to treatment of patients with or at-risk for type 1 diabetes.
How did you become involved with this area of diabetes research or care?
As a pediatric endocrinologist, I provide care for patients with type 1 diabetes.
