What is your presentation about?
I will be discussing some of the translational research we are conducting at USC evaluating the diabetic foot and treatment and imaging modalities. We will be discussing the relationship and significance of bench research and how we can translate that into therapies for our patient populations.
What makes this topic important in 2022?
Advancing the bench to bedside therapies to help combat diabetic foot complications and preventing amputations.
How did you become involved with this area of diabetes research or care?
I am a reconstructive podiatrist with a doctorate in stem cell research. I’ve always been interested in the underlying causes of diabetic foot complications.
What are you most looking forward to at the 82nd Scientific Sessions?
Looking forward to seeing all of the scientific advances and seeing my colleagues in person again!
